To our family and friends, this poem speaks to what a wonderful person Mom was. I don't know the author to give thanks to for summing her up so beautifully:
We remember a life today
And all that made her the woman she was-
Her work
Her gifts
All that she enjoyed
And found rewarding
Calling to mind
Her beginnings
Her journey
And the wonderful stories
We love to share about her.
We honour a life today
Her character
Her integrity
Her commitment
To the things she stood for
Recognizing her good heart
Her sense of humour
And the helping hand
She so often extended out to others.
We celebrate a life today
And all that earned her
The love, the admiration,
The respect of family and friends,
Feeling grateful for our time with her,
Enriched for having known her,
Feeling blessed to have
Her remarkable spirit
Here among us forever.
