Obituary of Bill Thurber

William Robert (Bill) Thurber of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan passed away on January 10, 2024.  Bill was born on July 6, 1940 in St. Thomas, Ontario.  Predeceased by his father, William Thurber; mother Ruth (McPherson) Thurber.  Bill was the third child.  He was predeceased by his sister, Fay Windrum and her husband, Del and his brother Garry Thurber and his wife Elsie.  

He is survived by Bonita Chad the mother of their 4 children; Deborah Thurber, Chad Thurber (Connie), Erin Roesch (Grant), and Jeffrey Thurber (Colleen) as well as 10 grandchildren, Adam (Lexi), Jasmine (Michael), Alexander, Mitchell (Victoria), Raquel (Frank), Ethan, Emma, Megan, Keira and Madeline. In addition, he leaves behind his brother Jack Thurber (Gail), and numerous nephews and nieces.

Dad was known for his sense of humour, as he always had a joke or story to share. He had a kind, sensitive heart and was always willing to help others. Dad lived a very simple life and family meant the world to him. Most days you would often find him at Market Mall having coffee with friends or walking in the park as he loved nature.  Dad will be lovingly and dearly missed by all who knew him. 

It was his wish that there be no funeral service.  Friends so wishing may make donations, in memoriam, to the Parkinson Canada- Saskatchewan, The Saskatoon Mental Health Association, or the Alzheimer Society of Saskatchewan.
