Dear John, Jay, Tim & Chad and families,
Just heard of this saddening news. Our family’s deepest condolences. Your mom was kind and caring as teacher, welcoming whenever we hung out at your house (playing volleyball in the backyard) and, as the obituary says, a fierce fan at the rink or in the gym whenever we played.

I shall miss your yearly visits and our 2-3 weekly phone visits.
Granville Island and Steveston will not be the same without you….
But, when I do go visit these places again, you will surely be in my thoughts
(However, I shall not be going to the fabric store).
Love ad prayers to your beautiful family.

We saw first hand from the stands the support that Rose and John gave to their boys and the whole Huskie Volleyball team in the 1990’s. Our son played with all three Magus boys over a 4 year period at the U of S. Our heartfelt sympathy to John, Jay, Tim and Chad.
Sincerely Dan and Connie Johnson

We were so sorry to hear of Rose's passing. I (Olga Makohon Coates) have fond memories of our trips up the hill to attend Pleasant Hill Elementary School in the 50's. She and her brother John would leave their Avenue O South home and travel up 20th Street where my brother Jerry and I lived. Rain or snow made no difference in those days! As happens we lost track of one another so it was with happiness I saw Rose at an NRC function. I had begun working there and she was attending with her husband John. It was nice to see and chat with her after many years. Other visits at other functions were a pleasant time. Rose was the most pleasant, kindest, nicest lady!
