Cheryl Cuelenaere passed away peacefully on December 30, 2023, at Royal University Hospital, after a brief illness.
Cheryl is survived by her husband, Rand Burlingham; her children and grandchildren: Joel Walmsley; Alena Sherwood (Mark Sherwood) and children William and Andrew; Davin Burlingham (Tianna Burlingham) and children Clifton and Chris; Robin Burlingham (Scott Newell) and children Henry Stockdale and Arlo Newell, and Scott’s daughters Celia and Rose; her sisters and brothers: Lynne Bergerman (Denis) of Humboldt, SK; Michael (Nancy) of Edmonton, AB; Pamela (Chris Dunn) of Prince Albert, SK; Thomas (Deborah); Lise McIntosh (Kenneth McIntosh); and nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents, Marcel and Maxine Cuelenaere. Cheryl was born in Saskatoon, SK on January 24, 1952. She completed law school at the University of Saskatchewan and had a thriving family law practice at Burlingham Cuelenaere until her retirement in 2009. Cheryl was dedicated to her family and devoted her time in retirement to her grandchildren. She volunteered on the board for the Albert Indoor Playground and gave her time for school activities and candy cottage construction parties. She spent summers at Waskesiu and volunteered on the Waskesiu Seasonal Residents Association board. Cheryl loved trips to Disney and dreaming up new art projects to work on with Lise’s classroom.
The funeral will be held on Tuesday, January 9th at 10:00 am at Saskatoon Funeral Home (25 St. & 4 Ave. North). In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Creative Kids Saskatchewan https://creativekidssask.ca.
