Hello,
I have such fond memories of Mrs. Marlor when she and Reverend John were in Strathmore, at St. Michael's and All Angels. As such a talented seamstress, my mother Patricia Morgan, engaged Elta to sew a dress for my Grade 12 graduation from Samuel Crowther High in Strathmore, June 1966. What a lovely elegant dress! Elta did it without a pattern, just measurements and her creativity. It was white satin, and fit like a glove. No one there had such a great seamstress as I did. I called Elta a few years ago with a question about the Strathmore church stained glass window, and we had fun reminiscing about how she had to keep adjusting the dress as the fittings proceeded, with my going on and off little 'diets.' It felt like no years had gone by. I know why my mom liked her so much. What a lively, engaging woman. At the Strathmore High School all classes reunion in June last year, I had my dress there on display, with the story of how it came to be. That same dress had also been my cousin's wedding gown in 1968 and I wore it at U of Alberta during my years as a pharmacy student. It was such a wonderful dress for those 'formals' that were all the rage. I am sorry this is so late in coming, I only just was the obituary, and my love goes out to all of the family on the loss of such a wonderful woman, sister, mother, grandmother -- she did them all with flair. I still have the dress and think of her when I see it in the closet. :)

Rachel and Jennifer - I'm so saddened to read of your Mother's passing. I will remember her as a good neighbour and from Girl Guides. I think of her every time I make bread - she taught me how to do that in your home. I remember many adventures with Guides, her voice, her vibrancy. So many, many things come to mind. May sweet memories and her spirit give you comfort at this time.
You are most certainly in my thoughts and prayers,
Jane Gallagher
