I take solace in those wonderful memories I had with Aunt Rosita. I am heartbroken, yes, but I am also grateful. I am grateful for the many times Aunt Rosita stayed in our home in the Philippines and spent her Christmas holiday with the family. I am grateful for the many hours in the phone that we spent chatting and the emails I received from her. I am grateful during the time she visited me in Singapore and spent time together. I am grateful that I had an Aunt who was just the sweetest person and have touched all those she met with her fun stories, jokes and humour. Her hearty laughter, happy face, positive outlook in life and her generosity will always be remembered.
In my 3 days in Saskatoon, I have reminisced all the stories she shared from her cozy home to her favourite restaurants. I also had the chance to meet her wonderful friends..
As I fly out from Saskatoon today and head back to Austin, I am still mourning for her loss, but I also will continue to celebrate her life. I will hold onto the lessons Aunt Rosita taught me, the love she shared and the memories I made with her. Because that is how she would want to be remembered…Not with tears, but with smiles. Not with sadness, but with love.
Thank you Aunt Rosita for everything! Thank you for the wonderful memories. Thank you also that I had your genes! May you rest in peace.

A beacon of joy and unwavering support, Tita Rosita was always present during moments of celebration and solace.
Her vibrant spirit touched the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her. From joyous occasions like weddings to the somber moments of loss, Tita Rosita's presence brought comfort and strength to our family. She was a pillar of love, attending to the needs of her loved ones with a warm heart and a contagious smile.
Tita Rosita's legacy will endure through the countless memories of shared laughter, her role in keeping our family close-knit, and the enduring love she showered upon us all. As we mourn her passing, may she always be remembered of the beautiful life she lived and the profound impact she had on each of us.
May she rest in eternal peace.

My deepest condolences to you, Alvin.
There are many happy memories to share. Rosita would visit us in Long Island. We would meet in the Philippines.
We vacationed in Ireland together, and we toasted with our Guinness!
I married her brother, Rene, in 1985, and we spent our honeymoon in Canada!
Years later, we traveled with Alvin and Rosita to Banff.
It was the most beautiful time, and place.
We had many laughs through the years, we ate at many amazing restaurants, and I will always keep these memories etched in mind.
Rest in eternal peace, Rosita.

I so enjoyed reading the lovely tribute of Rosita. I only knew her thru mom. I am sure Rosita and Mom have been catching up the last couple of days. She was a great neighbor. Mom always had a special something that Rosita or yourself had dropped off for her. It was always appreciated. She will be missed by many.

Ninang (Godmother) Rosie was always full of laughter and joy. I will always remember our trip to Vancouver for Expo 86 and countless outings at various restaurants. One of my most fondest childhood memory was that she taught my family & I how to play Yahtzee. Ever since then, every time I see the game she comes to mind. Thank you for the everlasting memories. Rest in Paradise Ninang.

Alvin, condolences to such an amazing woman. She always had a great smile on her face. I will miss her deeply especially the phone calls every week where we would usually talk for a hour. She always had a story to tell or a joke to be made. She no longer is in pain but she’s resting in the arms of the angels.

I remember the time Rosita and Alvin took my sister, Laura, and I out to a Korean restaurant. She obviously knew the management well as she talked them into preparing almost the entire meal at our table. It turned out to be a show as well as a delicious meal!! She was always such a hospitable lady. We’re sure she will be entertaining and dining with the angels.

So many memories! But a favourite is when I got Rosita to come to the old Paradise Hill bar after midnight mass Christmas eve. Rosita had like one drink and I had several. But Annie and Lucy totally blamed poor Rosita! I set them straight but dont know if they believed me. Rosita was always up for fun!
