Obituary of Alfred Herbert Heise
Alfred H. Heise, (80), of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, passed away suddenly and peacefully on October 29th, 2023.
Al was born in Rippon, Poland on May 2, 1943. The family immigrated to Canada in January 1948, settling in Redcliff, AB. Al became a Canadian citizen in May of 1967 and married his life-long partner Barbara Wilkie on August 31, 1968. Al received a B. A. from the University of Alberta and subsequently worked for the Government of Canada for 36 years at offices in Lethbridge, AB, High Prairie, AB, Grande Prairie, AB, Melfort, SK, Slave Lake, AB and Saskatoon, SK, retiring in 2003.
He is survived by his wife Barbara of 55 years, sons Jaret (Kara) of Spearfish, S. Dakota, Brett (Gita) of Saskatoon, and Jordan of Saskatoon, as well as grandchildren Connor, Ethan, Avani and Marcus. Al was predeceased by his parents, Gustav and Amanda (née Wahl) and brother Adolf (Kurt) Heise, who passed just 4 months prior.
Al was an avid traveller, reader, photographer and coin collector. Al also had a love for music.
Al’s family will host a funeral service on Monday, November 6th, 2023 at 1:30 PM at Saskatoon Funeral Home (338-4th Avenue North, Saskatoon). Prior to the service, a viewing will be held between 12:30 PM and 1:25 PM for those who wish to attend.
