OGILVIE, Robert (Bob) Stewart

September 24, 1939 – October 6, 2023

Bob was born in Regina September 24, 1939 to parents Alvin Easton Ogilvie and Annie Alice Ogilvie (Stewart). Bob died on October 6, 2023. He is survived by his loving wife Eva of 56 years, two sons: Travis (Nicole) and Greg (Rachelle), four grandchildren: Aiden, Laura, Easton and Gavin, one sister Joanne (Jim) Cross; and several nieces and nephews. Bob was pre deceased by his parents, one brother - Fred, parents-in-law –John and Anna Cherry, and brother and sister-in-law - Jim and Ruth Cherry.

Following high school at Central Collegiate in Regina, he continued his studies in chemical engineering graduating in 1961 from the University of Saskatchewan in a class of 16. In his last year of Engineering, Bob was a member of the student’s representative council as editor of The Greystone, producing a wonderful yearbook with the assistance of most of his classmates. This very cohesive group of classmates kept in touch and celebrated their 50th reunion on campus in 2011. Following graduation he and two friends hitchhiked around Europe for 6 months experiencing many adventures. Following graduate school at the University of Washington, Bob taught at the College of Commerce (now Edwards School of Business) for 35 years, retiring in 2000. During these years, the class most memorable was the Business Game!

Bob was a stickler for detail and strategizing, and the dining room table was very often covered with a board game like Titan with Travis and Greg playing for days with their Dad.  In addition, chess was a favourite challenge, playing for many years both with a colleague at the college and a classmate from Engineering by email.

Curling, golf, Fantasy Baseball was much enjoyed over the years with family and friends. As was travel, with some wonderful cruises taken, and numerous Arizona Fall League and Spring training baseball games attended.

After an unfortunate fall in December, 2017 and months in rehab for a spinal cord injury, Bob was able to walk again. Life changed, however the subsequent years were still fulfilling. His last six months were spent at Sherbrooke Community Centre which is wonderful care community.

Thank you to all the Health Care professionals who have cared for Bob over the last several years.
