Richard Lund
July 10, 1943 – September 9, 2023
On Saturday September 9th Richard Lund ended his earthly journey.
Richard was born in Kensington, London, England in 1943, moving to Saskatoon in 1945.
He was the oldest of 3 boys. They lived in the Mayfair area in the home their Father built.
One of his first jobs was working for the Hudson Bay Department store in the toy area. Richard served with the Royal Canadian Air Force Auxiliary for 5 years as a Leading Aircraftman. He hired on with the Canadian National Railway as a Brakeman Conductor based in Chappell Yard. A number of years later he changed to working out of Biggar, riding the trains to Wainwright & Edmonton. He retired after 33 years of service at the age of 55.
In 1967, he married his wife, Gail. Along came 2 daughters and a home. Sadness struck in 1979 when their oldest daughter passed away. The following year, their youngest daughter was born.
Richard was actively involved with the Bridge City Cosmopolitan Club for many years.
In recent years, his health declined. He entered the hospital May 7th hoping to return home shortly but unfortunate events led to a move July 25th to Sunnyside Adventist Care home where he peacefully passed.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years Gail; daughters Erin, Kimberly(Greg), grandchildren Liam, Andrea and numerous family members.
He was predeceased by his daughter Andrea, parents Bob and Alice and brothers George and Rodney.
