My deepest sympathy to Marie and all the Sadoway siblings - many of whom hold dear childhood memories for me in Halifax, Nova Scotia. As well to Ted and Zenovia; your loss is great! Betty was so much fun, larger than life even at a young age. I attended the live-stream and listened to all the beautiful tributes of a life well lived for others. Many of my younger day memories are at your family home including our frequent visits with Betty on Almond Street. I felt Betty accepted younger people and showed us we mattered which is a testament to her kindness .

I am deeply saddened with this news. I worked with Betty at SPL and together we created a number of wonderful and innovative programs… the Poetry Write-Off comes to mind. Betty was such a person (I wish I could bold the words: such.a.person), she was wise, creative, intelligent, supportive, compassionate, friendly, warm, accepting, humorous, optimistic, dedicated, loyal, and always …always… always so joyful.
