I worked for Ian at STI 1964 1965 and he was the kindest and amazing boss I have ever had. He was so good to me and all of the staff and students. He was a wonderful man and I know he will be missed. Please accept my sincere condolences.

Bette,
Sincere condolences on the loss of Ian to you and the family. The best model of a 'gentleman' that I've ever known. What a contribution he made to the community!
He was thoughtful, knowledgeable, energetic, and dedicated to encourage the best in people and organizations. I will always be thankful for his guidance and support during those early years of the Jazz Festival.

Dear Bette, it is with sadness that we learned of Ian's passing from our fellow co-op members at the lake. I always enjoyed speaking with Ian and you both, and was unaware of his tremendously interesting career and volunteerism. I wish you and yours the happiness of reflection of your loved one's life, and express our deepest sympathies at the loss you feel.

Dear Bette, Gail & Bryan,
I am so very sorry to hear of your loss. My Dad let me know - he sends along his condolences as well. I'm so glad I had the chance to have coffee with Bette and Ian a couple of years ago. It was wonderful to see you both and to relive some fun memories. I shall remember Ian for his great sense of humour and readily apparent love of life! My best wishes to you all.
