Obituary of Emil Luis Sigurdson

Emil Luis Sigurdson, born on May 17, 1938 passed away peacefully on August 21, 2023 at Luther Special Care Home in Saskatoon. Born on the farm north of Leslie SK, the third son to Emil and Sigga Sigurdson. 

After high school, Emil was employed by co-operatives in three prairie provinces, with his last position as General Manager of the Wynyard Co-op Association. After retiring from the Co-op, he and Carolyn managed the Eastend and Fishing Lake golf courses. Emil also had the opportunity to work with his friends Ed and Dale Gudmundson on a number of construction projects. In his spare time, Emil enjoyed woodworking as well as spending time with Carolyn and many friends and family at their home at Fishing Lake.

Emil was predeceased by his parents; infant sister, Rose; brother, John; precious granddaughter, Robyn; sisters-in-law, Shirley (Bill), Heather (Dave), and Ardelle (John); and brothers-in-law, Richard Armstrong, Dave Reinhardt, and John Rusitch. 

Emil is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Carolyn; sons, Brad (Launa Ruttle) and Daryl (Lisa Pennington); brother, Gestur (Violet); sister, Ruth (Bill Groves); sister-in-law, Gloria and Margaret; grandsons, Marqus Forsythe (Shanley Koop) and Kale Sigurdson; granddaughter, Hanna Sigurdson; great grandsons, Thor, Mavrik, Aceson, and Rextyn; as well as special nieces and nephews. 

Internment to take place at a later date. Those wishing to make donations in lieu of flowers may do so to the Elfros Cemetary or the charity of your choice.
