Sandra and Family,
Sorry this is so late, I was away when we got the news from Heather. My sincerest condolences. I have happy memories Sandy of you and Glen coming through Thunder Bay in a van, many many years ago .. I was a teenager. We missed you at the Cousin's reunion this year, but I understand why you were not there. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
Love

I first met Glen and Sandra on the Saskatoon Nordic Ski Club hikes and appreciated their enthusiasm, warmth and humour. They were also avid snowshoers and developed the snowshoe trails at Eb's from the North Hut, my favourite snowshoe trails in Saskatchewan. I will think of Glen every time I am on them, in the peace and beauty of the forest.. He contacted me when he got sick and asked me to make sure that Sandra continued to join hiking and snowshoeing outings - typical of him to always be thinking of her. I hope to see you on the trails Sandra although I know that your companion of so many years is leaving a gap that cannot be filled.

I was very sad to learn of Glen's passing. I will always remember his time as Meewasin's representative on the Board of the Saskatoon Heritage Society 1984-1987, acting as a liaison between Meewasin and the Society. We remember him primarily, however, for his work in the development of Wanuskewin Heritage Park. Who will ever forget the tour Glen led of Tipperary Creek, as it was called back then, and his moving account of his feelings for the spirituality of the place!
Rest in peace, Glen. We send our condolences to his family.

I was heart broken to hear of Glen's passing. We had many discussions around planning and planners and I so enjoyed chatting with him. I will miss him dearly.
One of the biggest laughs I got out of him over the years......and you may not have heard this one Sandra....when I told him this story
I was a year or two behind Glen and Sandra and we all belonged to the track club at school. I used to run around after Glen and Sandra and Lindy Antonini (during warmups)......and watch their technique and admire their calfs. I know....its creepy but they were the stars and I was a grunt. Maybe I could learn something. They were always kind and helpful.
Miss you Glennie

Dear Sandra and Family,
I would like to share a little about Glen with you. Glen had a profound impact on my life both personally and professionally. He was a lifelong mentor of mine beginning shortly after being taught by Glen in my 4th year of University in the U of S Regional Urban Planning program. Glen selflessly helped shape many young Planning minds for over 20 years and I was one of those lucky souls. As luck would have it, shortly thereafter Glen and I worked together side by side in the office and in Council Chambers every day for 7 years at the RM of Corman Park where he became my Supervisor and the Director of Planning. We had some great successes, a lot of laughs, and fought some difficult and noble battles at work while understanding that everything we do professionally and ethically as Planners is for the public good. Glen lived and modeled this in his work and behavior.
Glen and I remained close after our Corman Park days. But Glen wasn't just my professor, mentor, or a boss. Glen was my friend. We regularly met up during the year for breakfasts, coffee, Huskies Football games, and he’d invite me to speak to his UofS Planning Students Classes for his 4th year Ethics and Professional Planning course. Glen and I regularly talked shop, planning, family, and life.
Griz was a wise Planner, a sharp-witted guy, artsy, believed strongly in ethics, and my friend. I’ll miss him. Our Planning profession will miss his endless contributions.

I am going to miss Glen very much. He was a brilliant, fun, and authentic person and one of my most impactful colleagues over the 15 or so years we worked together in the USask Regional and Urban Planning programs. He has built an enormous legacy in Saskatchewan through all the students he taught (and he taught some of us faculty a lot too) that have gone on to build careers in the field he specialized in. His impact on some of our most treasured spaces in the region, like Meewasin and Wanuskewin, are things we can also be grateful for. But most important of all, my deepest heartfelt condolences go out to Sandra and family.

Our condolences Sandra for Glen’s passing. I particularly remember our time involved with officiating for track and field. Not the actual volunteer work but the opportunity it gave for us to cross paths occasionally. Thus allowing us during breaks in officiating to catch up on the many interesting common grounds that we shared. Ken & Margaret McKechney
