Obituary of Shelley Elaine Babineau

Shelley Elaine Babineau nee Nutbrown, born December 23, 1962 passed away on August 12th, 2023 at Oliver Lodge with family by her side.

Shelley grew up in Saskatoon, attended Lorne Hazelton School and Walter Murray Collegiate. After attending the Saskatoon Business College, she began work at the University of Saskatchewan in the Grad Studies Department, a position that she enjoyed, making many friends.

In 1988, Shelley married Bob Babineau and they started a new adventure living in their home on Churchill Drive.

Over the years, until her health problems prevented her, she was active in McClure United Church. She belonged to the Junior and Senior choirs, often singing solos for church and events. Playing her guitar, she enjoyed entertaining at functions, including helping at church services in senior homes.

Shelley loved cats, and when her health failed and she could no longer work, they brought her many hours of companionship. Over the last thirty years, she continued to carry on her home duties, having a love of nature, looked forward to times spent at the lake, enjoyed family gatherings, meeting with her friends, and waiting for the Saskatchewan Roughrider games on T.V.

In the fall of 2022, she entered hospital for further surgery, resulting in many days in hospital care finally moving to Oliver Lodge in January 2023.

She is survived by her loving husband, Bob, her mother, Elaine Nutbrown, her brother Allan and his wife Debra and two loyal friends Lori Heikoop and Heather Olsen.

A private memorial service has been held.
