I was fortunate to meet Mr and Mrs Nelson through their daughter, my dear friend Nancy. They always welcomed me when our paths crossed, mostly at their home on Osler, and I enjoyed my visits with them. I was saddened to hear of Mr Nelson's passing but what a precious legacy he leaves behind in the family he was so proud of. My condolences to all of you.

How wonderful that Mr. Nelson lived a long life surrounded by family and friends who loved him and he loved in return. My condolences to you all. My connection with Mr. Nelson goes back to the mid 1970's. He was my French teacher at the Regional in Yorkton. I remember those classes fondly. I had the pleasure of reconnecting with Mr. Nelson recently as I'm involved with the Century Club of which he was a member. He'll be missed, but forever in your hearts.

We were saddened to learn that Randy passed away recently. He was such a kind, soft spoken man who greeted you with a smile. Even though our paths didn’t cross often after they left Yorkton we were able to keep tabs on him in Saskatoon. Thinking of you all as you gather to celebrate Randy’s life and reminisce about good times shared together.

My husband Dave joins me in offering condolences to the Nelson family. I had known Randy and Isabelle for over fifty years. They were a wonderful, hard-working couple.
Randy was a true and honest gentleman, always believing in fairness. He was also a dedicated and highly respected New Democratic Party MLA who was always committed to providing the best possible representation to his constituents.
R.I.P. Randy

Uncle Randall was one of the coolest of all my uncles on both sides of our family. He was always so posative and calm. Brita and I surprised him with a visit last summer. Here's a pic from that visit.

I would like to offer sincere condolences to Randy’s family. I knew Randy through politics for over 40 years. Randy was unfailingly kind. He lived his belief that people should take care of one another in all aspects of his life. He will be missed, and fondly remembered.

Have you ever been so fond of some people (or animals), that you feel as though they could be your whole heart? I felt this way about my Grandpa.
He both valued hard work and people who struggled. Above that he valued working hard and working together so that people didn’t have to struggle. He was a major architect of my care for others, sense of justice, and desire to make the world a better place.
No one, as a combination of things, was as fun, smart, kind, and wise to me as a small child, and very few (before or since) made me feel as loved and delighted in as he and my Grandma did. A precious and invaluable thing to feel, perhaps especially as a child.
His being proud of me meant the world to me. I still have so much to do, and I wish so much I could still tell him about it. If I am also grateful he made it to 97 (still doing 1 armed pushups in his 90s). An incredible man has passed, my Grandpa, my whole heart.
Miss you, love you always Grandpa

I want to offer my sincere condolences to Randy's family. I know from many conversations with him how proud he was of all of you. I had a lovely visit with him in his apartment while I was in Saskatoon in late June. Randy and Isabelle were mentors to me when I first ran in a political campaign in 1997. I have never forgotten their kindness and generosity. RIP both.
