Doreen Marie Chutskoff

June 24, 1946 - July 20, 2023

It is with deep sadness the family announce that Doreen was welcomed by her husband and son in heaven on July 20, 2023. She passed away after a short but courageous battle with cancer at the age of 77, with her family by her side. She will be greatly missed by her two children, Carey (Jodi) and Jody (Darryl) and her three grandchildren, Dylan, Riley and Sophie who she loved dearly.

She is also survived by her two special sisters, Shirley and Dallas, along with her many nieces and nephews: Wade, Wendy, Gillian, Brendan, Deidre, Betty, Terry, Patrick, Rick and all their extended families. She was predeceased by her husband, Walter and son Wally, her parents, Peter and Elizabeth, her sister Dianne, brother Ernie and brother-in-law Al, along with all her other in-laws and family members.

Doreen was born in Flin Flon, MB to parents, Peter and Elizabeth. She met her husband Walter in Snow Lake, MB and they married in 1965 in Kamsack, SK. They lived in various places in Saskatchewan and had 3 children, Carey, Wally and Jody. Doreen resided in Saskatoon for many years until her passing. She was a stay at home mom for many years, then enjoyed a career as a special care aide at the Saskatoon Convalescent Home until her retirement. Once retired, she enjoyed sitting in her gazebo and caring for her beautiful flowers and garden, and going to the casino with her sisters who she had a very close bond with.  She was an amazing cook and each of us had a favorite recipe that she would cook for us. Doreen was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.  She was loved by all who crossed her path and will be missed dearly.

The family wishes to thank her sisters and niece for caring for mom at home, where she wanted to spend her final months. We also wish to extend our thanks to the Palliative Homecare nurses for their care and kindness and the Hospice at Glengarda for keeping her comfortable in her final days. As per Doreen’s wishes, a private family service will be held at a later date. There will be a come and go lunch on August 19 from 1-4 at Jody and Darryl’s house. Please contact the family @ jmillard2002@yahoo.ca for details.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Hospice at Glengarda, stpaulshospital.org and select Hospice in the drop-down menu.
