Obituary of Evelyn Peters
Evelyn R. Peters
June 12, 1930 - April 5, 2016
It is with deep sadness that we announce the death of our beloved mother/grandmother/great grandmother. Evelyn passed peacefully at the St. Paul's hospital surrounded by family. She was predeceased by her husband Dave Peters. Left to mourn are her children: Yvonne Peters (Howard Miller), Judy Weisbeck, Debbie (Dave) Hulm, Lorrie (Brian) Isbister and Darin Peters (Colleen O'Neill) as well as seven grandchildren and many great grandchildren. Evelyn was born and raised in the area of Dalmeny Sask. After their marriage, Evelyn and Dave moved to Saskatoon where they raised 5 children. Evelyn worked hard to support her family at the Mayfair Glenn, Mayfair Drugs and the Dairy Whip. She ended her working life as a seamstress with Eatons and Lundmark Draperies. For over 40 years Evelyn was a devoted and active member of the Queen Esther Rebekah Lodge. She was a regular at the Saskatoon Craft Guild where she created many needle point pictures for all her children and grandchildren. She was also a member of the Mayfair United Church. She enjoyed family gatherings especially when the grandchildren and great grandchildren were around. The younger members were in awe of her bold and vigorous campfire skills. Her mighty fire poker was highly admired, a little feared and now highly cherished .Evelyn was a strong woman who didn't hesitate to share her opinions. We thank her for the many life skills she taught us and for the inspiration she gave many of us to willingly speak our minds.
