I have so many wonderful memories of Caroline, its very hard to narrow down. What i remember most about her was her warm smile, sense of humour and her caring and generous nature. She always took time to talk to people about what was happening in their lives. Her ability to emapathise with other people and their lives endeared her to so many people and it was evident if you ever observed her daily interactions with people. This trait was obviously a big part of how she was able to build such a long and successful career in sales.
Animals loved her too. All our animals Truman, Bronson and Blue loved her visits to our house and would sit with her constantly. If you believe that animals are a good judge of a persons character then she was certainly a great person. She especially had a special bond with Bronson who she basically helped raise since he was adopted. He loved to go there and she always had a special spot he liked to sit in in her house for his visits which he would be so excited for! In turn he was able to be there for her as a comfort and companion in her final months.
Caroline was a true food lover and great cook as well. i remember many amazing holiday meals that she prepared. Food was a big deal to her and she put a lot of though and effort into the preparation and planning behind it. She was a joy to cook for as well. So appreciative, knowledgeable and willing to try anything. I was remember an incident and an outdoor Grey Cup party in 2010 when Caroline mistakenly covered a hot dog with Sriracha hot sauce thinking that is was ketchup. About half way through, she was like,,"This is kind of spicy..." After discovering the error a laugh was had by all, and like a trooper, Caroline finished the rest of the HOT dog.
I was always very impressed with her determination and ability to decide something and then make it happen. Like me, she was a long time cigarette smoker, but quit when it began causing heath issues. I still credit that as being the inspiration for quitting smoking myself.
Caroline absolutely lived for her daughters and Granddaughters. Her girls were her life. It was beautiful to witness the bond of love and closeness between them all. That is something that will live on forever.
Caroline was taken far too soon, but her legacy will live on in all of the peoples lives that she touched. Those people are many...I am one of them. My life is forever better for having known her.
Rest in peace Caroline.
She lived, She laughed, She loved, She left.
