Obituary of Henriette Doris Mierau
It is with a heavy heart the family of Henriette Doris Mierau, announce her peaceful passing on July 7, 2023, at the Sunnyside Care Home in Saskatoon, SK. Her granddaughter Stephanie was by her side.
Henriette was predeceased by her husband, Herman Wall; daughter, Sheri Milnes; husband, Gerald Mierau; as well as her sisters, Inus and Ardythe.
She will be lovingly remembered by her daughter, Pam Blum (Cliff); son-in-law, Paul Milnes and his wife, Laurie; and stepdaughters, Wendy Richards (Grant), Lori Mierau (John), Richelle Patterson (Trent), Lisa Makelki, and Lavonne Graham (Drew). She will also be remembered by her grandchildren, Steven Blum (Olivia), Candace Roth (Michael), Ryan Blum, Scott Milnes (Emily), and Stephanie Milnes (Kevin); along with many step grandchildren, great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.
Henriette was born Aug 12, 1936, to Abe and Margaret Epp in Laird, SK. She married Herman Wall in 1953 and they had two daughters. She was baptized in Laird Mennonite Church and after her marriage to Gerald in 2002 she transferred her membership to Zoar Mennonite Church in Langham. She always expressed her thankfulness to have had two very loving marriages.
Of greatest importance to her were her faith in God, having a loving family, and God’s great mercies and comfort in troubled times. Those who knew her appreciated her quick wit and caring nature.
A Graveside Service will be held at the Laird Cemetery on July 16, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. An informal get together will be held at the Laird Senior’s Centre following the service.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
