Obituary of Murray James Shillington

Murray James Shillington, age 88, passed away on July 3rd, 2023 with family by his side. He will be lovingly and sadly missed by his wife, Dorothy; daughter, Cheryl Youngman (Dave); son, Trevor (Fillitsa); grandchildren, Cole, Shayla Close (Braden); and numerous family and friends. Murray was predeceased by his parents, Wesley & Stella; sister, Alma; brother, Lorne; twin brother Victor; and numerous relatives. 

Murray was a farmer and was proud to have farmed land and raised livestock with his twin brother Vic for over 40 years in the Vanscoy / Delisle area. Murray had enjoyed having horses on the farm and had been especially attached to the farm dog, Cindy. He was a very hard worker and a man with integrity and valued honesty. His family always came first. In retirement, he enjoyed many years camping with family and friends, being in the yard, having coffee with the gang and going to the Blue Diamond. He also enjoyed watching curling, baseball and hockey.

At Murray’s request, only a Graveside Service will be held at the Vanscoy Cemetery on Saturday, July 8th, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. for family and friends.
