Bertha Elizabeth Holland (nee Fitzsimmons)

A Memorial Service will be held at The Saskatoon Funeral Home 338 4th Ave North on Wednesday, July 5, 2023 at 10 am followed by a reception at the W.A. Edwards Family Centre.
It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Bertha Elizabeth Holland (Fitzsimmons)
Bertha died peacefully, at the age of 97, on June 26, 2023 at Sunnyside Adventist Care Home in Saskatoon.
She will be lovingly missed by her children; Barry Holland (Joanne), Calvin Holland (Helen) , Sharon Baliski (David), and Marlene Prebushewski (Brian). Her Grandchildren; Brenda Mitchell (David), Brian Holland (Rhonda), Kristin Baliski (Dave), Steven Baliski (Suzanne), Miranda Currie, Kyle Prebushewski (Julie). Great-grandchildren; Layla, Pheonix, and Juniper. Brother William Fitzsimmons (Sandra) send her sister Irene Clearwater.
Bertha was predeceased by her husband Wilfred Holland; her sons Kenneth and Lorne Holland. Parents Nathaniel and Elizabeth Fitzsimmons. Brother Frederick Fitzsimmons, sisters; Ida King, Margret Omnes, and Shirley Johnson.
Bertha was born May 5, 1926 in Colonsay, Saskatchewan . She married Wilfred Holland on September 12, 1947. Together they farmed Meacham area for 10 years and started their family. Bertha and Wilfred moved to Saskatoon, where Bertha lovingly looked after her family. Bertha took great pride in helping her children and caring for her grandchildren. Family was everything to Bertha, she was happiest in their presence.
She loved to exercise and her favourite work out partner was Ed Allen on TV. She continued to keep active up to the age of 95. She loved to walk and read a good novel.
She made the best pies!
Bertha enjoyed music and learned to play her Dad’s harmonica. Playing the harmonica gave her such joy.
