I am so very sorry for your loss. I met Glen and Wilma last summer when my dad passed and he spoke at the service for Ian and Pat. I liked him the minute he said hello and seemed like a very kind man. My father Ian spoke of him and Wilma often and I'm sure they are together golfing and watching the Blue Jays . Wishing you strength in this time of sorrow.

I was very sorry to hear of Glen's passing. I worked at the city when Glen was on City Council, and he was wonderful to work for. Without fail, he treated me with respect and was interested in the work I was doing. As a leader in our community, he led with confidence and conviction to do the right thing. He served us well. I am very sorry for this deep loss to your family.

I was seriously disappointed to hear of Glen's passing. His awesome "sense of humor " is what I will remember forever. Wilma, in this trying time, I wish you and the family the ability to remember and cherish the joyful moments that you all have. God bless you all.

I was friends with Glen’s grandson Jarrett and I was lucky enough to meet Glen on multiple occasions. Although we weren’t related, he would make an effort to come to some of my theatrical performances which I greatly appreciated. Very heartbreaking news.

My sympathies to the Penner family. I had the privilege of working with former Councillor Penner for several years. Many times his voice of reason guided difficult discussions and decisions. He is remembered as a leader, respectful and kind.

Ron and I were heartbroken to hear of Glen's recent passing. We have so many memories over the years:
Glen golfed in Ron's foursome for a number of years at the Saskatoon Golf and Country club. The four of us spent a Christmas day together when Glen and Wilma joined us for dinner at Spencer's in Palm Springs. Glen was on the Meewasin board for many years including when I was CEO. Indeed we believe he was a "founding father" of Meewasin when he supported a motion to make the City of Saskatoon a partner in the organization. He was always the voice of reason--of sober second thought--for whatever organization he was involved in. Our community has lost an important contributor. Glen Penner will be sorely and lovingly missed by everyone who knew him.

I lived my public school years in the North Park neighborhood along with Glen and several others who spent many a summer night playing hide and go seek until the 9 pm curfew siren or dark. Rest in peace old friend for a life well lived! Take best wishes to Russell and Dennis. Homefree!!!

I was a student at Westmount School, when Mr Penner was vice principal with Mr Tansley. I remember him as a very nice person, and as a young student, remembering he was very tall!!
With deepest sympathies. Sandra Lasiuk

We were very sad to hear of Glen's passing, and we wish to extend our sincere condolences to Wilma and her family. Merv met Glen in 1969 in the education postgraduate program at U. of S., and their paths crossed many times over the years of their working lives. It was always a pleasure to meet Glen and to enjoy his great enthusiasm for whatever was at hand--education, city council, sports, socializing. There are many good memories of this gentleman and friend.
