To the Semko Family,
Please accept our sincerest sympathies and condolences in Peter’s passing. He was such a fine man and taught many young men and women how to respect and deal with people. Peter and my father, Bob Crawford who was a greens keeper, built Holiday Park golf coarse together and Peter was the one who taught me how to golf. How we will miss him in Saskatoon and the province. His legacy will not be forgotten.

Peter was a Prince to me. Had the time for a free golf lesson now and then and never made you feel like you were inconveniencing him. I’ve always admired Peter’s accomplishments and natural talents. Condolences to the entire family.

To David, Shauna and Jay, my deepest sympathies. Your dad was an amazing man and I was so lucky to have been apart of the Greenbryre family for a couple of years. Peter was always kind, positive and supportive of me while working there, with a big smile on his face and a great story to tell. He helped me select my first set of golf clubs and I can happily say my love of golf grew from that period of time working out there with helpful tips and being able to golf in the evenings. I am forever grateful that Peter and Sherrill allowed my Australian friend (Jodie) to work for them one summer to give her the real Canadian experience. We often talk about that summer, as we had such wonderful memories at the golf course. May your memories help provide you with comfort through this hard time. Jacqueline Eiwanger

Our deepest condolences to David, Jay, Shauna and family. Mr Semko was one in a million with his quick wit, his passion for building Greenbryre into the institution that it became, and his leadership. I will always chuckle when I remember his “Confucius said…” inspirational quotes which were hilarious, all made up but entirely on point. Peter was a constant example of how to treat people, work hard, and enjoy life. He was a wonderful man and his memories will live on in all of us who had the privilege of learning from him. Mike, Emily, and Ella Damberger.

The Semko Family, We enjoyed having the Semkos as neighbours a few years back. What a lovely couple and a pleasure to interact with. Peter was the outgoing gentleman that was first to engage and build a relationship. He was always ready with a smile and a positive comment! A genuine man with a soft and caring approach. He definitely left an impression.

My wife Jacqueline and I send our deepest condolences to Jay, Shauna, David and the entire Semko family. I have many fond memories of working at the Greenbryre Country Club for a few summers in the 1980's when at one point Peter and Sherrill hired all 4 members of The Northern Pikes to plant trees, cut greens and help out wherever it was needed. I also spent a few months living with the Semko's when Jay and I were getting our band The Idols back together in January 1982. I always admired Peter's work ethic and sense of humour, I never saw him get mad, he seemed to always be smiling.
R.I.P. Peter ❤️

To the entire Semko family we are truly sorry to hear of Peter's death. He was a true gentleman in every sense of the word as one other person wrote on this page. We have fond memories of our time at Greenbryre and a visit with Peter and Sherrill in Palm Springs. Peter taught me how to putt and I always remember what he said - eye the line - hit the ball - pretend you're a kid and just hit the golf ball and it will go in. My golf game is not stellar but I am a good putter. (Jan). And I often say his name when people comment on my skills.
Our deepest condolences.

Dear Shauna, Jay, David and families;
I am indeed saddened to hear of your father's passing! Peter was a remarkable individual and I consider myself very fortunate to have known him as a true friend! While the game of golf was dominant in our relationship, I had the opportunity to work with him and your family in a business environment. He was instrumental in helping Early's and Nelson Motors (Avonlea), organize and host the first of several Golf Course Superintendent's Field Days at Greenbryre. Always a smile, always accommodating, forever a friend! May he rest in peace!
With sincere sympathy, Joe C. Bloski

Athlete, builder, manager, family man, and always the best example of a gentleman. Really good to we snotty kids running around ar the City club where he worked. Left behind a wonderful family of whom he was justifiably proud. Endured physical limitations gracefully.
My favourite memory is at the first tee at the start of a big tournament. Peter had a new extra long driver he was showing to everyone. Given the length, he hit the ground behind the ball, the club bounced, and he whiffed on the first tee. I was a caddy who just happened to see this embarrassing but, over time very funny moment.
My sincere best wishes to all his remaining fabulous family. Traveling, I will sadly miss the celebration of this extraordinary life, Herb Pinder, jr

Peter had an uncanny ability to remember personal details of people he met which was quite amazing and acknowledgement that he took the time to care about you. He would recall personal things even if he hadn’t seen you for a long time. My experiences with Peter were mostly from Greenbryre and also that is where I know David, Jay and Shauna from. I had the privilege of being able to do some family and wedding portraits with D, J and S….all lovely people, thanks to Peter and Sherille. I have fond memories.
