Eva Senger (nee Leibel)
January 9, 1928 - April 20, 2023
Our most gentle, kind and gracious mom, grannie, sister, sister-in-law, aunt and friend to all, left us peacefully on Thursday April 20, 2023 after suffering a stroke. Our world will never be the same. She left us with a lifetime of wonderful memories, endless smiles, hugs, warmth, and a steady guiding hand, a beautiful legacy to carry forward into the future.
Mom is predeceased by her husband Pius of 57 years, her son Alan, her sister Marge Senger, her parents, John and Mary Leibel and numerous in-laws.
Left to cherish her memory, and forever miss her beautiful smile and loving personality are her daughter, Shelley (Noel) Manastyrski - Josh Rayner, Kody, Faith, Shianne; son Rob - Mason, and son Byron (Shawna). She also leaves her sister Rose Brosinsky, brother Gilbert (Adeline) Leibel, and sister-in-law Ellen Senger, as well as many beloved nieces and nephews, all of whom were very special to her.
Mom grew up on a farm in the Salvador District in Saskatchewan. As a young woman, she moved to Saskatoon where she worked as a secretary at City Hospital. She met our dad in 1949 and they were married on October 8, 1951. The ensuing years were spent raising their family, for a few years in Edmonton, then settling back in Saskatoon where they remained. Once their family were older, she returned to work as secretary at St. Francis Xavier Parish until her retirement in 1993.
Mom enjoyed reading, knitting, dancing, walking, gardening and playing cards. Her and dad enjoyed trips within and outside of Canada, and spending time at their cabin at Emma Lake for many years. She was a social lady and had wonderful memories of times spent with their friends and relatives. But most special to her were her children and grandchildren, and we always knew how much she loved us all.
The family would like to extend a special heartfelt thank you to all the staff, nurses and caregivers at Samaritan Place where mom resided for the last 4 years. She truly loved and felt loved each and every day by all of them. God Bless all of you!
A private family service will be held on Monday May 1, 2023 at 11:00 am.
