I was saddened to hear of Annie's passing but so relieved to hear she passed peacefully. Annie and I met in 1974, both of us coming to Victoria, she in 1973 and me in 1974. We met at a gathering of PWP, People Without Partners. We connected very quickly and were friends for many years. Your mother was one of the hardest working people I ever met. She was a force of nature. We shared many stories of our lives past, present and future. Every story contained her children, then her grandchildren and later on her great grandchildren. She loved you all dearly. They say we are all apart of those we meet. Well I carry a special place in my heart for your mom. She taught me how to make perogies one weekend. We laughed so hard I have no idea how we ended up making them. We went on so many adventures together. Your mom loved them. I got married again and so was very busy with an expanded family and so we did not keep in touch. Years later Annie remarried. My husband and I shared the same birthday and she and Alan also shared the same birthday of each other. The four of us would go out on the birthdays each year. We had a boat and they had a cabin so we went back and forth. Annie sang at my daughter's wedding, I was her matron of honor at hers. She loved music so much. She was a fantastic cook and taught me many tricks of the trade. Years later my husband passed and a couple of years after that Alan passed. We picked up where we left off. Unfortunately, we went our separate ways a few years later because I was no longer able to be her friend. I thought about her frequently and wondered how she was doing. I am so happy to hear that she was able to pass peacefully, knowing that she was loved by her family and her family knowing that she always, truly loved them from the deepest recess of her heart. Rest in Peace, Annie. I know god has wrapped you in his arms and given you the biggest hug you have ever had.
