In Jim Crowe's obituary, reference is made to his time at the Saskatoon Tuberculosis Sanatorium and lifelong involvement with the Royal Canadian Legion TVS Branch 78. My dad contacted TB and other disability during his military service, was also in the "San," and my parents Bob and Lil were members of the branch. I often heard them talk about Jim Crowe and his advocacy on behalf of veterans, always with a great deal of gratitude and respect. Mr. Crowe assisted my dad and also my mother after my dad passed away many years ago. As well, I received bursaries when I went to university from both the local branch and the national organization, and he was involved with that as well. I wanted his family to know that his unpaid work on behalf of veterans and their families was appreciated, made a big difference in many lives, and is not forgotten. Although I only met him a few times, I always considered him as a person whose example should be followed. He was a very generous and unselfish man. Sincere condolences on his passing.

Rev. Colin Clay posted a condolence

I wish to extend my deepest sympathy to the members of Jim's family. I was away over Christmas and the New Year and only learned of Jim's death when I arrived home on Friday 5th and, on behalf of our small group of Royal Regina Rifles Association members - Greta Switzer, Carmen Beaumont, Don Breher and myself, Colin Clay, I want to extend our condolences. Jim was a faithful member at our monthly meetings, and joined us for our last meeting before Christmas on Friday, November 24th when, as his custom was, he joined us for lunch after the meeting. We enjoyed his presence and his gentle sense of humour so much. Some of us were also present on the occasion of the "First Pinning of the Poppy" at Market Mall in November 2017 when Jim was especially honoured as one who, following World War 2, was a TB Veteran. We shall miss Jim deeply and we will be pleased to acknowledge his friendship when, at some later date, you choose to have a time to honour him. Once again, our thoughts and prayers are with you all, Jim's family, at this sad time. Sincerely, Colin Clay and Jim's friends in the Royal Regina Rifles Association.
