So saddened to hear about Major Don Breher's passing. I first met him in 1979 when I joined his unit, The North Saskatchewan Regiment, as Paymaster. He was a good friend and we shared many a conversation over the years. My deepest sympathies go out to the family. Rest in peace Don, you will be missed!

Uncle Don, Aunt Eleanor and their family always represented such a positive experience whenever our family was able to visit.
A stop at the Brehers was always something to be excited about because I always felt so welcome.
I remember swimming in the pool and getting to hang out with the older boys, which was a big deal for a young kid who grew up with 2 sisters.
I once took a bus as an unattended minor from Calgary to Saskatoon and when I finally reached my destination, I vividly remember seeing him at the depot, realizing it was him and feeling a flood of relief because he was a man that I trusted and I knew I was safe.
Uncle Don was unfailingly nice to me and provided memories that I will always remember as safe, warm and fun.
I was very sad to hear of his passing.
With deepest sympathies to all of his family and friends,
Kennedy Kirk

Condolences to the all of the Breher family, I first meet Don on the parade square he was the RSM I a corporal didn’t turn out well for me, but I really got to know him once I was promoted and in the Sergeants Mess here I found a true friend he had a great sense of humour and way one of the first to congratulate me when I was promoted to RSM. Hi Kevin, Darryl, Barry, Mary,
Don was a faithful friend of mine for many years. We shared frequent activities in Kiwanis where he offered solid support in all meetings and projects. I enjoyed his company in our weekly coffee group at Fuddruckers on Thursday mornings. Personally, I have lost a brother, you have lost a loved one. May we all cherish his legacy of kindness and unconditional support.

I first got to know Don Breher through my association with the Militia in Saskatoon, and then with my involvement with the Royal Regina Rifles. We interacted both through the Reserve activities , print organizations and as individuals. He was a tireless worker and an enjoyable person. He was a person that I always looked forward to meeting and talking to. Am sure that all who knew him will be missing him.
Sincerely , C Keith Inches

I first knew Don Breher when I was a young 14 year old joining the North Saskatchewan Regiment and he was Staff Sergeant Breher, the Senior NCO of the Regiment. He was the epitome of the soldier who knew and did his job as a true professional. He always thought of his men first. I got to know him in the Sergent's mess later on and found out he was one of the last of the really good guys. He gave me excellent advice which helped me advance as a soldier and as a citizen. I will miss him as I know the Regiment will. .RIP Staff Breher !

Don was an inspiration to me as a young militiaman. His patience, humour and kindness, even thought he outranked me, was something I never forgot.
My father Dave , the Paymaster, also knew Don and always spoke highly of him.
Don lived life of giving and faced adversity with a positive attitude. He was a good man.
