Ken certainly was one in a million ! His dedication was strong to his family , especially his mom and sister! Ken would go home for planned routine weekends and holiday visits over the years. Of course , Christmas which routinely started in the late fall for Ken. Ken made no bones about reminding staff about his trip home to moms on a certain day ! Ken looked so very much forward to it every year ! His favs of Christmas were his family, the Christmas tree and presents under the tree at moms yearly. Kens other passions were his Personal Suite at the Manor that his mom had decorated and made it so comfy for Ken , with so many of Kens personal pictures in his younger years , his keyboard and his Nintendo which was mega huge for Ken!! Ken spent so much of his time playing that Nintendo he loved so much. Earlier on several years back he’d often tell staff it was broke but in reality he hadn’t made the score he wanted in the Mario game! Kens life at Elnwood was so rich and so full of activities and events ! He was a busy guy between his scheduled and some unscheduled Elmwood activities depending on his daily schedule of course. Heading daily to Cosmo for work , answering the telephones for a period of time and finding time to play his Nintendo. Occ in his earlier years at Elnwood Ken would sit down at the piano in the main area at Elmwood and entertain everyone with a few short familiar tunes Lastly Ken was a true gentleman , often opening the doors to staff coming to work in the early mornings and opening the nurses medroom door for the nurses ! For years , Ken would greet staff as they came through the doors by their first names and would expect they do the same back !! In the last few years Ken made the front foyer of Elmwood his other important space and kept a watch over all who entered the building from his favourite seat! We’ll miss you dearly Ken , your one in a million ❤️
