Obituary of Patricia Dianne Lillie
PATRICIA DIANNE LILLIE (nee BAKER)
June 13, 1950 - February 2, 2023
With broken hearts, we share that Pat passed away peacefully on February 2, 2023 surrounded with the love and prayers of her dear family and friends, her daughters holding her hands.
Pat was born in Campbellford, ON on June 13, 1950 to Dorathey Louise and Dr. William Ward Baker, youngest sister of Jim, Shirley and Joanetta. Mom grew up along the Trent River and met the love of her life there in high school through her friend and future sister-in law, Mary.
Robert (Bob) Edward Lillie and Patricia Dianne Baker were married on August 15, 1970 welcoming daughter Sara Meghan in 1972 and Erin Louise in 1975. The four grew up together, as they moved around Eastern Ontario, finally settling in Saskatoon in 1989, where Pat and Bob remained.
Mom graduated from the Nightingale School of Nursing in Toronto in 1970 and worked in various areas from the nursery and pediatrics, to geriatrics, psychiatry and Client Patient Access Services (CPAS). When she wasn’t nursing, she owned her own business “Ultra Uniforms”, became a dental assistant, studied interior design and art history, and even obtained her real estate license. She ended her career early due to the effects of rheumatoid arthritis and although she dealt with health challenges throughout her life, she preferred to focus on her family and her adored grandchildren Noah Robert (“Butchy Boy”), Luke Christopher (“Honey Boy”), and Lillie Rose (“Princess”).
Left to mourn Pat are her daughters Meghan (Chris Boychuk and son Luke of Saskatoon) and Erin (Aaron; children Noah and Lillie of Airdrie, AB); sisters-in-law Suzanne Symonds (Mississauga, ON), and Mary Lillie (Naples, FLA); numerous special nieces and nephews and her extended family of the Jasper/Boychuks. Close friendships with Giselle Thomas, Terri Lang/Darren Dyck and family, and best friends Patty and Vern Sargeant and family (London, ON) will always be cherished.
Pat was predeceased by her beloved Bob, mother Dorathey, father Ward, father-in-law Bob, mother-in-law Gertrude and nephew John.
Mom’s great laugh, bright spirit, natural talent for retail therapy and incredible cooking and baking skills will be remembered by so many. Feeding people’s bodies and souls made her heart sing.
Special thanks to all who cared for Pat; Dr. Selma McMahon, Dr. Regan Arendse, Ryan Bruck, and the stellar RUH ICU Team and consulting doctors.
A summer celebration of Pat’s life will be forthcoming. If you wish to make a donation in her name, please give to the Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital Foundation (www.pattisonchildrens.ca).
