Obituary of Darlene Hazel Klassen
Darlene Hazel Klassen
October 26, 1934 – January 22, 2023
On Sunday, January 22, 2023 our Mom, Grandma, Great Grandma, Sister and Aunt Darlene Hazel Klassen was called home in Heaven to a reunion with her parents, brothers and sister.
Darlene was born on October 26, 1934 on the farm north of Biggar, SK., the fourth of five children.
Mom met our Dad at a ball game and married in 1954. Six boys soon occupied her time and kept her busy cooking, cleaning and life as a farm wife. In 1984, Mom and Dad moved to North Battleford and then Mom moved to Saskatoon to be closer to her family.
Mom had many talents. She loved music and was very artistic. Reading was her favorite hobby. Baking and cooking - not because she loved to, but because 6 boys ate A LOT.
She is survived by her oldest sister, Elenora Lahoda (Calgary); her sister-in-law, Mabel Hoppe (Biggar); sons, Aron and Colleen (Saskatoon), Bill and Janice (Asquith), Tim and Peggy (McLaughlin), Jim and Dawn (Estevan), Mark and Debbie (Bashaw) and Allen and Brenda (Saskatoon); 26 grandchildren; and 24 great grandchildren.
Mom joined her parents, Rudolph and Alvina Hoppe; siblings, Bill and Lillian Hoppe, Erma and Harry Meger and Raymond and Sandra Hoppe; brother-in-law, Stan Lahoda; grandsons, Robin Klassen and Kirby Regier.
Mom, we love you and will hold you in our hearts forever.
A family Memorial Service will be held this summer as Mom was not fond of winter.
