You and your family have my sympathy. I was manager at SLU and spent many, many happy hours with Milt. He was one of the good guys.

This is from another St Louis kid, who was "hockey-crazed" and in total awe of how fast Milt could skate. Then I got a chance to work with him at Immerfrost, many times skating into the late hours, after the rink closed (there was always a goalie or two available.)
Your father was a good person. He told us to stay in school, go to college and maybe, if your skills allow, play college hockey and beyond.
Through him we met many other canadian hockey players; Nestic, Lundy, Butler, Cadeaux........
I'm sad to realize that such a great person was sent to heaven at such a young age. Just goes to show that God must have needed a speedy winger.

To Jennifer and Laura my condolences to your families on the passing of your father. My name is Mike Lester and I met your father when I was working at Immerfrost. I along with Milt(I think we were the first two people that were hired to work there. I was just entering my junior year of high school(1973).Your dad had this very cool Datsun 240Z he had just purchased and was very proud of it.He used to let me and my best friend(John McCabe)skate and shoot pucks after hours untill we were so tired we could barely stand up! He'd just tell us to "Z" the ice and make sure you set the alarm. Your pop was a fantastic player(in those size 5&1/2 Tacks)he could really fly! He really made a lasting impression on me. I will always remember his smile. He was a very morally straight man. Some years ago my parents and I were in your neighborhood travelling on vacation. I found your parents in the telephone book and called. I spoke to your mother and told her that I had worked with Milt. Unfortunately she told me I had just missed him. She told me he worked for Jostens and was out on the road working.I read the part about him keeping the blade on the Zamboni sharp enough to shave with. I can attest to that as I remember laying under the "Z" changing the blade which is a challenge to do. Especially for a 17 year old kid! A lady by the name of Yvonne Roques called me last night and told me of your fathers passing. Her and a couple of her friends(Betty&Norma Keough)used to attend all the Billiken hockey games as did I and my buddy John. Those were fun times! Milt was well liked here in St.Louis. www.reddogmal@gmail.com

Jennifer, Laura, Mohninger and Varley families: Lynn and I became best friends when the Varley's lived in Amherst, and I was honored to be in her bridal party when she and Fuzz were married. In August of 1993 my sister Ann and I had our last visit with Lynn and family of which we still have many treasured memories. The "TLC" Lynn was receiving from all was impressive, and I am sure Fuzz received the same care in his last illness. Fuzz's obituary is a beautiful tribute to him and a picture of the beautiful memories created by this loving family.
We plan to watch funeral service on line tomorrow.
Love and prayers for all.

We are saddened with the passing of Fuzz.We had a 42 year history of being neighbours with many social activities such as backyard parties and Christmas parties.Fuzz was the “go-to” guy for anything like borrowing tools, general information and a social beer.We watched him raise two wonderful daughters after Lynn’s passing. We will certainly miss his presence on Parkdale Road with his blue truck passing slowly and a consistent wave. As a teammate and friend of Milt in St. Louis I was shocked and saddened this morning to hear of his passing. There is a lot one could say about Milt - his generosity and willingness to always put the team first no matter what the cost. His smile was infectious, his ability to listen, his optimism and his keen sense of humour made it easy to want to be around him and to be able to call him a friend. My sincere and deep condolences to Jennifer, Laura and family.
Gone, but not forgotten. Rest In Peace, old friend.
