Obituary of Elizabeth Gill
It is with deep sadness that the family of Elizabeth Gill announces her sudden passing on Wednesday, February 17, 2016 at the age of 83 years. Elizabeth was born in Toronto, ON, the youngest of three children, to Arthur and Grace Thompson. She graduated from Wellesley School of Nursing and McGill University. She met Lewis Gill on a summer trip to Saskatchewan and they were married in April of 1965. Lewis’s ministry in the Anglican Church took them to several parishes throughout Saskatchewan until they retired to Saskatoon in 1990. Elizabeth was devoted to organizations like ACW and Marriage Encounter. She enjoyed music, studied piano as a child, and played the organ at church for many years. She was an accomplished seamstress and enjoyed many types of handiwork, keeping especially busy in later years by knitting blankets and scarves. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Elizabeth was predeceased by her parents, brother Arthur and sister-in-law Eleanor Thompson. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 50 years, Lewis, daughters Ruth and Donna, brother Walter as well as nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Bible Society National Support Office (10 Carnforth Rd. Toronto, ON M4A 2S4). The family would like to thank everyone at Villa Royale-ICH for the wonderful care that Mom received the last four years. Special thanks to Home Instead Senior Care for the loving care and support that they have shown to Elizabeth and the entire family.
