Dear Elaine! I met Elaine when we were lifeguards at Lathey Pool. She was the first to talk to me and put me at ease on the new job. Her tiny frame was always cold and you would see Elaine in the pool fully clothed more than with a bathing suit on. It was a glorious summer I spent with Elaine swimming our hearts out.
Through the years when Elaine came to Saskatoon, she would call and we would get together. Her family was always very welcoming when I would step in her parent’s front door. We would talk a lot about family and Elaine always would ask about mine and remember the details. She put people first and it was evident in her friendliness and inclusiveness to all people she encountered. Honest, genuine and caring, Elaine was a rare, beautiful, sweet soul.
To Elaine’s family, may you gain strength in the light that was and is Elaine, cherish memories of her and be grateful for what a wonderful person she was in all our lives.

Alberts and Gardiner families
I am so sad and devastated of the news of Elaine‘a passing. We went to school together and grew up down the street from each other since we were 8 and have kept in contact all these years. She has left me with so many memories to cherish. Many a sleep overs and tons of fun in Brownies, Guides, crafting cruising down cherry lane on our bikes, walking downtown for plate of old fashion fish and chips and playing baseball. We were two peas in a pod with endless laughter and of course getting into trouble together. I taught her highland dancing and she taught me how to throw a paton. Our very first trip together to Florida after high school. We most recently talked in October when she proudly shared stories of her beautiful grand babies. Elaine was a true friend and she will forever be in my heart. I share in your grief. May your wonderful memories help you through this sad time. Xxoo. Myrna

I really enjoyed talking to her and loved seeing her when I did! My heart goes out to her family, I pray that you find comfort in knowing that Elaine affected people who only knew her a little bit :) God Bless. You’re all in my prayers .

Lainey was my slightly older cousin, who was always graciously saddled with her younger cousins when we came to visit. I have fond memories of time at the pool watching her diving practices. As we got older and both became adults, she was the fun-loving, full of life, glass all the way full, cousin and friend. While our time together consisted of family gatherings, I will forever remember her as a devoted daughter, sister, wife, and mother. She was so very proud to be a grandma! She had THE best laugh! I will remember her with great love and fondness. A life of love and laughter who has left us too soon. Lainey, may your light continue to shine bright for those of us left behind. Rest easy in the loving arms of Uncle Ralph, Auntie Venita, and all our family who has gone before. We will do our best to continue your life's work by holding Blayne, Grayham, Kyle and their families in the Alberts' circle of love. Rest In Peace, dear cousin. God speed.

Elaine came into my life when I was 13 and a newly arrived resident of Saskatoon. As those "small world" stories go, we had also lived in Langenburg. We became fast friends when we met in the Diving Club (antics and all). Lots of time spent in the Alberts home and Lainey in the Boland home - catching the bus together to hang out at Midtown Plaza, spending time at Tobin Lake with the family, going bowling together, babysitting Kris and Lisa and sharing our lives as teenagers, young adults, parents and solid friends for almost 50 years. Elaine and Blayne's stint in Lloydminster rekindled that friendship with Elaine and Blayne becoming Godparents of our son, Colin. Arnie and I are so sorry to hear of the loss of Elaine and Peter.
