Obituary of Scott Anthony Clarkson
Scott passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his family, on Wednesday, February 3rd, 2016. He is survived by his loving wife, Sarah, and son, Aidan; parents, Bernie and Betty; brother, Kevin, his wife Jo Ann and their children Cody, Kyle and Macy; parents-in-law, Laurie and Christine Tollefson; brothers-in-law, Greg (Amanda Clarke), Eric (Shannon Storey), and Mark (Dayna Firby), along with extended family, colleagues, and friends. He was predeceased by his grandparents, as well as aunts and uncles. Family was very important to Scott; he was a loving father, husband, son, brother, uncle, and cousin. Scott was born in Saskatoon and grew up on the family farm near Harris. He completed Grade 12 at Harris-Tessier High, attended the University of Saskatchewan and later Saskatchewan Polytechnic to become an Agricultural Equipment Technician. Scott married Sarah on New Years Eve in 2007. Their pride and joy, Aidan, was born in November of 2008. Scott was a very devoted husband and father. He was incredibly proud of Aidan, particularly his athletic abilities and love of baseball, football, and hockey. In 2008, Scott joined the Kinsmen Club of Saskatoon, and the Kinsmen quickly became his best friends and support network. He often referred to joining Kinsmen as the second best decision of his life. One of his greatest accomplishments was as Chair of the Kinsmen Sports Celebrity Dinner in 2015, which brought Gordie Howe back to Saskatoon. Scott held various jobs, notably at Agrium, Orchard Transportation, and Farm and Garden Center. His last years of employment were with Shermco Industries as Business Development Manager. Scott loved sports and he played fastball for many years, ending his career with the Delisle Diamond Dogs. Scott enjoyed travelling – most recently to sunny locations like Fairmont, Mexico and Phoenix. He had a passion for vehicles, laughter, celebrating life, and large social gatherings. The family wishes to thank the countless number of angels who provided care and who have shown love and support throughout his journey. Scott will be forever missed, but will continue to live in the hearts of all those who shared in his life. In lieu of flowers, friends of Scott have generously established a Trust for Aidan at Affinity Credit Union main branch (inquires to scottclarksonfamilytrust@gmail.com) or memorial donations may be made to the Kinsmen Club of Saskatoon (www.kcos.ca).
