To the Ash Family
I was sorry to read of your dad's passing. I have so many memories of the years he guided the congregation at St. James when I was a teen and early adult. When your mom and dad returned to Saskatoon our parents continued their friendship living so close to one another. After my dad passed away Glenn was so caring picking mom up for choir practice, Refiners Fire and Church on Sunday morning. Such a kind and generous man.

We were saddened to hear of Reverend Ash's passing and will always treasure our times with Glenn. This was the last time we saw Glenn at Emmanuel Anglican Church on April 7, 2018. Your father, grandfather & great-grandfather will be greatly missed for his larger than life stature and booming singing voice. Condolences to all...Glenn will be greatly missed.

Glenn was such a well-loved presence at Emmanuel; when he would proclaim the Gospel, it was with such conviction and joy - no microphone needed! He was an example of strength grounded in quiet humility. Glenn's insights in discussion - especially justice oriented discussion - were shared with passion and wisdom.
Years ago, Glenn was part of a small group which met to share the faith journey over breakfast. Tim was also part of that group, and really valued the connections made through sharing experience and books that helped light the way.
I too will take part via livestream today. Karen Sandell

Over the last ten years or so I met Glenn from time to time at the Saskatoon Fieldhouse. We would walk the track together and chat about the issues of the day and sometimes delve deeply into life's journey. Glenn had such a welcoming gentle presence, it was always a pleasure to meet up with him.I know that many lives will have been touched by him. Our condolences to the family as they mourn the loss of Glenn. We will watch the live-stream of the service because of the ice and snow. Mary and Dave Tyler

We remember both Glenn and Adelaide with much affection -- their kindness, their good-humour, and their inquiring minds. They explored questions of faith with open hearts and open minds, always ready to welcome new insights or perspectives. They both were a blessing to the church they so graciously served.

Marci and I were so blessed to know Glenn and Adelaide, and I was blessed personally to have him as a deanery clergy colleague when I was in Arborfield and he was in Nipawin. Rest in peace and rise in glory, Glenn, and may your family know the comfort of Christ at this time.

I have many wonderful memories singing bass with Glenn in the St. James Refiner's Choir from 1997 until 2004. We had many laughs during rehearsals and on the bus rides, and Glenn had many religious stories to tell. RIP, Glenn.

I have such wonderful memories of Rev. Ash and your family. Such a big smile and a great heart. I can still picture him in his study at the rectory in Athabasca with his pipe. Sincere condolences on your loss, and thank you all for the wonderful memories. Kevin Leicht

My sincere condolences to all of you, Katherine, Ann Marie, Jonathan, Norman and your families. I remember a long time ago your Mom and Dad rented our basement suite. Your Mom worked while your Dad went to university. My Mom looked after Katherine. I just found this newspaper article.

Thank you Heather. We grew up considering your family our family. Living in Saskatoon and with Dad being a priest we couldn't go to our extended family for the special holidays. Instead we had the honour of sharing each and every one of them with your family. Thank you for the article. I had forgotten all about it.

Our family was blessed to call the Ashes our dear friends and we enjoyed many fun and memorable times together. Glenn was a lovely man and I will always hear his deep voice in my head and catch the scent of his pipe tobacco in my thoughts…my deepest condolences to you all.

Thank you Gail. I had forgotten about his pipe. I always loved the smell of it. I have so many great memories of your family as well, especially times spent at the lake. I remember your father convincing Jonathan that he could blow his muscles up by blowing on the tip of his thumb.
