Obituary of Jean Nugent

Jean Nugent (nee Gardner) passed away peacefully at the Hospice at Glengarda in Saskatoon, Saturday, October 22^nd, 2022 at the age of 92. 

Jean was born on July 9^th, 1930 in Climax Saskatchewan to Margaret and Andrew Gardner.  At the age of 18, she began her career with the Royal bank in Climax.  She spent 7 years transferring to different branches throughout Saskatchewan. 

She met Stanley in Rosetown during one of her transfers and they were married in 1955.  They chose Delisle to settle down and raise their family.  Jean also worked at the Delisle town office and IGA grocery store until retirement. 

She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend.  She was well known for her beautiful crochet tablecloths, doilies, and her baking.  She sat for hours crocheting different things as well as startching items for women in the community. 

Jean was an active member of the community throughout her life, especially at the rink.  She spent many hours at the rink with her children and enjoyed every moment.  She enjoyed spending time with her friends and always welcomed every kid from the community into her home.  She made life long friends in Delisle and area.  She will be missed by all who knew her. 

Jean leaves behind her children Colin (Linda); John (Joanne Lee) John’s children Brooklyn, Katy (Zach); Linda Alexce, her children Kennedy, Hannah, Sheneice (Matt), Jaclyn (Jordan) their children Parker and Luka; Orval Coates his children Michael, Steven (Madison), Jenna, Kristine (Casey), David (Jessalyn) their children Lacy, Dawson and Rosalyn; Jean’s sisters Margaret (Ralph); Linda Gardner as well as many nieces and nephews.  Jean was predeceased by her parents Margaret and Andrew Gardner; brothers John and Donald Gardner; sister Mary Trottier; husband Stanley Nugent and daughter Brenda Coates. The Celebration of Jean’s Life will be held on Saturday, October 29^th at 2:00 p.m. at the Delisle United Church (316 1^st St. W.)  Interment to follow at the Delisle cemetery.
