Alice was born on a homestead near Langham where she was brought up by her loving parents George & Margaret (Harder) Snook. Alice was the middle child and only girl in the family, with two older brothers James & William and two younger brothers Louis & Gary. Alice married Paul Sawatzky on April 24th, 1953. Together they raised their three children, Cheryl, Brian & Scott in the town of Waldheim. Alice worked as a bookkeeper at various companies throughout her career — Borden Coop, Hepburn Coop, Waldheim Lumber, Thiessen Brothers Farms, DJ Diamonds, Valentine's, Rolar Agencies, as well as for numerous private individuals. She was always quick to point out she was a bookkeeper and not a secretary.
Alice moved from her much-loved home in Saskatoon in 2018 to take up residence in Primrose Chateau, where she enjoyed luxury living until a cancer diagnosis in 2021 brought about another move, to The Hospice at Glengarda, where the staff took exceptional care of her.
She leaves to mourn her passing: brother, Louis Sheppard, children: Cheryl Klein, Brian & Karen (Klippenstein) Sawatzky, Scott Sawatzky, grandchildren: Greg & Gindy (Wachniak) Klein, Geoff Klein, Angela McLellan, Ashley Podhordeski, Brittany & Darryn Zimmermann, Hayley Sawatzky, great grandchildren: Gavin Klein, Gabriel Klein, Fiona McLellan, Camden McLellan, Nevada Podhordeski, Violet Podhordeski, Aubrey Podhordeski, Autumn Zimmermann & Norah Zimmermann as well as numerous nieces & nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents George & Margaret (Harder) Snook, her husband Paul Sawatzky, her half-brother James Snook, brothers William Snook, and Gary Snook, a grandchild Daryl Sawatzky, and great grandchild Liam Klein.
