I met Irene at Queen's University. She was the friend I'd never had before. We had rooms right beside each other. I loved everything about her. She was a really wonderful friend. She was my bridesmaid. I regret that I wasn't able to visit her in the west. We were separated. We talked about getting together, but we never really accomplished it. She had a wonderful life! Dan, Doug and family -
I was so sad to hear about your Mom. I have many fond memories of both her and your Dad, from all those years ago when my Dad worked with yours on your cattle operation. Those were good times, good years. They are all sorely missed.
Veronica.

Sympathy to the Konkin family with the loss of your mother. She was a good and true friend to my mom, Diane Hilderman for many years. Irene and my mom were both strong women far ahead of their time. May your memories keep her with you.

Jill, Dan, Doug and families, I am so sorry to hear your news. When neither Mary nor I heard from her at Christmas, we wondered... You wrote a wonderful obituary - she was really quite the woman. What a different life she would have had if she were born today. I hope we are all lucky enough to age as well and as gracefully as she did, and to remain as interested in life. I will be thinking of you.

Dear Jill, Doug and Dan; I'm so very sorry to learn of your Mother's passing. My earliest memories of your parents include walking or biking to your farm to play, as well as when you were our neighbours in your Grandfather's home on Decorby St. Your Mom was a lovely, down-to-earth person and it was always enjoyable to be in her company. I'm so grateful she and my Mom were able to visit in Dec. and share a meal together. I know they both enjoyed it. Irene will certainly be missed by the residents of Kamsack and Madge Lake.
