Obituary of Dwaine Archie Vandenameele

Dwaine Archie Vandenameele (Shorty), late of Delisle, passed away suddenly at home at the age of 53 on September 20, 2022.

He was predeceased by his mother, Shirley and sister-in-law, Carmen (Frank).

Dwaine was born in Langenburg on June 13, 1969, the youngest of five children.
He enjoyed summers at the lake fishing on his boat “Maggie”, sitting by the fire for hours and gazing up at the stars. He loved spending time with family, friends and co-workers. For 29 years, he worked with Nutrien (Agrium) Vanscoy Operations where he made many friends along the way. Dwaine found freedom on the open road on his Harley and loved being outdoors having the sun on his face. He spent countless hours on the Asquith highway with his walking “stick”.

He is survived by his loving wife of 24 years, Angela, and his beloved daughter, Amy Shirley Rose (boyfriend, James), who was the light of his soul; father Joe; brothers Frank (Sherrill), Jerry (Kim), Barry (Donna), and sister Steffany (Ken); father-in-law and mother-in-law Bob and Sandra Mase; brothers-in-law Curtis (Carey) and Kelsey (Danielle); sister-in-law Sharla (Derek) as well as numerous uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Our entire family would like to thank the first responders, fire department and police for their sincere care. A heartfelt thank you to all our friends and neighbours for words of kindness, warm wishes, and gifts of flowers and food. Also, many thanks to our special friend Laureen for her perpetual and unwavering support of our family.

You are invited to a celebration of his life to be held on Saturday, October 1, 2022. Doors open at 6, program at 7 at the Delisle Curling Rink. A private interment of cremated remains will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Mental Health Association or a charity of your choice. His “Teddy Bear” heart will live on in us all.
