Obituary of Alsie Olga Hawerychuk

It is with deepest sorrow we announce the loss of our mom, Alsie Olga Hawerychuk (nee Baylak) born June 16, 1930 in Krasne, SK. Alsie passed away peacefully at Royal University Hospital in Saskatoon with her family by her side on Monday, September 19th, 2022. 

Alsie was predeceased by her loving husband, Paul Hawerychuk, married on August 10th, 1954; parents, Wasyl Baylak and Polly Baylak (nee Poturnak); and brothers, John, Mike, Harry, Orest and Albert. 

She is survived by her daughters, Judy (son, Danny), Loretta (Brian), grandchildren, Tyler (great grandchildren, Ryah and Logan), Devan (Michael), Larissa (Marton) and great grandchild Dominik; daughter, Zelda (Lyle), grandchildren, Zayda and Jasper; sons, Albert, Clifford (Donna) and son Gordon; as well as a several nieces and nephews.

She will be remembered fondly for her love of family, a devoted mother and grandmother. Summers were her favorite time of year when she enjoyed getting outside to plant her garden and care for her flowers.

The family honored her memory with a Celebration of Life at the Saskatoon Funeral Home on Monday, September 26th, 2022. The interment was held on Tuesday, Sept 27th, 2022 at Pleasant View Cemetery in Wynyard, Sk.

We wish to thank Saskatoon Funeral Home for their care and help with the final arrangements.

Thank you also to the staff at St. Annes Senior Care Home who took great care of mom during her short stay there.
