Violet Anne Konkin ( nee Malloff )
October 21/33 – September 10/22
Toil and peaceful life
It is with profound sadness the Konkin family announces the passing of our matriarch Violet Anne Konkin. She was the only child born in Canora ,Sk. to George Alexander and Dorothy Alexandra Malloff. At a very early age the family moved from Sk. to the interior of B.C. where Violet remained into her early teen years. The family then moved to Vancouver, B.C. where she attended and graduated from John Oliver high school.
Violet met and married Kenneth Konkin whom they shared 57 years together while raising three sons and building Dunridge Kenvik Pharmacy, a successful drug store in the Dunbar area of Vancouver. They also participated in sponsoring various sporting and community organizations within their community of Kitsilano. Violet was the queen in a male dominant household but her doors and kitchen we’re always open to all. After her husband‘s passing, Violet moved to Saskatoon in April 2013 where she resided until her passing.
Left to mourn are her three sons Kenneth Konkin Jr. ( Jane) , Ronald Konkin, and Glenn Konkin ( Wanda). Granddaughters Michela Konkin (Tyler), Alexendra Allen (Luke), grandsons Karsten and Kynan Konkin. Great grandsons Ryan Raymont, Dion Allen and Levi Allen, great granddaughter Peyton Raymont, cousin Ken Malloff, Aunt Verna Vass and numerous nieces and nephews.
Violet was pre-deceased by her husband Kenneth Sr. and parents George and Dorothy Malloff. Violet will be buried with her husband at the Woodlawn Cemetery in Saskatoon , Sk. The funeral service will be held at Saskatoon Funeral Home,338 4th Ave. N., Saskatoon ,Sk. on Friday, Sept.16/22 at 11 AM. In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations be made to a charity of their choosing in Violet‘s honor.
The link for the livestream will be on this obituary page and will be live prior to the service.
The Konkin family wish to thank all of the medical professionals whom have aided Violet in the past few years as her health declined. Thank you for your unwaveringly dedication, gentleness, kindness, love and understanding.
