Despite not being too close to Steve, l always saw him as a nice, caring, calm and loving person. I will always remember when he would take me and my siblings to small rides on his RV Bus, and would also offer me and my siblings mint chocolates every time we saw him at an apartment complex he used to own in the Phoenix area. I just recently found out about his death and this has saddened me and my family, I wish the best to his family due to his passing. May he rest in peace. -B

I have so many wonderful memories with my Uncle Steve that I will hold, cherish, and remember him fondly by.
Not only did I grow up having my Aunt and Uncle just one block away from me in Saskatoon, but when I moved away to go to college in Arizona they were just a short walk across the golf course. They were always there for me and I was always welcome to just pop in for a quick visit, a stimulating conversation, a hug and a smile, a warm meal, or a bed to sleep in when I was missing home or not feeling well.
Uncle Steve always took interest in what I was I was doing, or what my view point was on things were. He was truly interested in who I was and wanting to get to know what made me tick. He would challenge me to explore different ways of thinking and share his life experience with me encouraging me to consider it as well. Sometimes in my early twenties we could get going pretty good on things! He seem to know a little bit about alot and always enjoyed sharing that.
I have so many joyful memories together but a few of my favorites were when my brother, Darryl and I were little kids, we used to stay over sometimes with my Aunt and Uncle. Uncle Steve would enjoy sharing a bedtime story that he had made up with us. One night in particular, he made it so it was very very dark, then proceeded to tell us a story about Transylvania. It was a very scary and suspenseful story and my brother and I were on pins and needles. Just before the end of the story, at the climax, Uncle Steve had a balloon and a pin waiting to pop the balloon. The loud pop scared the living daylights out of us but we loved it and after being scared half to death laughed like crazy and wanted him to do it again!
Living in Arizona so close to them, I have many memories of sharing times with them in a more adult way whether it be heading downtown to the Coyote hockey game finals with my face painted white and hanging out enjoying a beer before hand, or meeting in Moab for a golfing weekend together and driving the extra miles to help me out when my car broke down on the way home, or always trying to be a match maker and give me dating advise which I rarely took:), or when I moved away, to have them arrive for a visit in Durango Colorado and meet at the Strater hotel and enjoy a wonderful time together.
I am grateful to have had the opportunity to have you in my life Uncle Steve. It's with these fond memories and a soft heart that I say goodbye to you here in form as we have known, and celebrate your soul as you continue on this beautiful journey knowing you are never far away.
You will be a part of each smile Auntie Rose and I continue to share together.
With love, may you be in peace~

Charlie, Vivien, Tara, Craig, and Tanis are reminded of all the good times spent on Lake Coeur d’Alene with you two. And, much fun and laughter were shared together through the years. We express our sadness at Steve’s passing. We will miss sharing business stories and toasting life. Love to Rose and family from the Marshalls.
