Such clear memories of the family sitting in the pew immediately in front of our family every Sunday morning at St. Andrews Church. Such clear memories of the Garden Centre and their hard work there every year from the time of the family’s arrival in Saskatoon. Thank you for being so genuine!

Dear Arie and all of the VanDuyvendyk family,
My deepest sympathy to all of you on the loss of your wife, mom, grandma and great grandma. The Walton family met the VanDuyvendyks at St Andrew's Presbyterian Church in Saskatoon many years ago. Our families had close ties through the church. The children attended Sunday school and youth groups together and our parents had lots of friendly contact with Arie and Adrie through various church committees and projects. It seems to me that Adrie always had a lovely smile on her face. That is how I remember her. I was fortunate to work at Royal University Hospital for a few years with Leslie, and for many years with Linda. As well, I have been happy to see Adriana off and on over the years. When I am in Dutch Growers I often look for a familiar face. What a wonderful legacy that was built through Arie and Adrie. May your memories and faith in God help to comfort you.
Sincerely,
Sheila Walton Dalshaug

The both of you have contributed to not only Saskatoon but our province, and continue to do so through your enterprising family and business.
It was yeats ago we got to know you consulting your gardening expertise and later when we became part of Heritage Estates, yourselves long time residents in it. The Estates benefitted from your knowledge and advice .We have been glad to know you have been content with your subsequent relocation here and with your winter forays to Hemmet.. Adrie and I met at St. Andrew's in the 1950s. She was a lovely and remarkable person then, and we all continued to think of her that way across the years and across the miles. My parents, Ross and Marjorie Downey, admired her and Arie very much, and were recipients of VanDuyvendyk hospitality and friendship--and Adrie's artwork. She was a gem.
My sympathy and condolences to Arie and all the family.

I would like to send my condolences to Arie, as he and family celebrate the life of Adrie.
Arie, may the memories of time spent in nature, with friends in the Golden Eagles of the Saskatoon Nature Society, provide consolation to you. Thank you for sharing those many trips with me and others in the van. My best wishes, from a nature friend!

Our sincere condolences to the Van Duyvendyk family. Adrie was such a loving person. Our family connection goes back many years when Arie came to Canada and Adrie shortly after. We also arrived in Canada in 1952. My mom and dad (Tony and Corry Notenboom) would always have a visit when they were in town. After we lost dad, mom would come from BC and I would drive mom over to continue with her visits. Adrie would take her to the greenhouse to explore the business they were so proud of.
Adrie was a very special person and you will all miss her. Our hearts hurt for all of you, and our thoughts are with you.Arie.

It is with my sincere condolences that I send this memory of Adrie, more appropriately Mrs. Van Duyvendyk as far as I am concerned. Our acquaintance centres on brief meetings in the work place at Dutch Growers. Unfortunately I had few other opportunities to get to know Mr. and Mrs. Van Duyvendyk more personally. However, I have had the privilege of working with their children and their families. Through them I feel a little closer to both Adrie and Arie.
One of the busy spring days at Dutch Growers I happen to pass by the a bench of geraniums where I saw Adrie instructing one of the new seasonal employees on the importance of deadheading the plants on the bench. I can see it in my head as if it had happened yesterday and I think of it often. Adrie in that moment, not only helped the new employee to understand the importance of attention to detail, also reminded me that it is the little things each of us do along the way that make big differences down the road. She was teaching by doing. Even when there seems to be not enough time in the day we still must give attention to the details.
Thank you both Mrs. and Mr. Van Duyvendyk for our brief times in the work environment, for sharing your family with me, and for reminding me that it is the little, achievable tasks and goals that are so important to look after through our hectic days. And to my friends, the Van Duyvendyk family, I hold you in my heart. Sincerely, Dan Mills.
