James Dyke

Obituary of James Dyke

The world has lost a loving soul too soon. James was born in Broadview, SK, finished his high school there and finally landed in Saskatoon. It was here that he met the love of his life, Dianna.  They both loved to spend time with family and friends.

James was a teddy bear with an infectious smile. His love knew no bounds. Loving James landed you a special place in his heart and it was impossible not to love him the same. James’ biggest joy came from helping others. James was an active community member with different organizations; Hub City Optimist Club, Easter Seals kids camps and if you have been to a Blades or Rush game, no doubt, you know James’ voice. His 50/50 call carried throughout the arena.

James is survived by his mother, Mary Dyke; siblings, Diane (Neil) McFadden, Peggy Dyke, Bob (Gayle) Dyke, Allen (Diane) Dyke, Jenny (Randy) Webb, and Jeff (Zita) Dyke; his sister wives, Linda Britton and Elaine Ginter. He was loved by many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and many friends. He was pre-deceased by his wife, Dianna Dyke; and his father, Ernie Dyke.

James has asked that there not be a service. Knowing how much community support meant to James, donations may be made to Hub City Optimist club and Telemiracle as well as to the St. Paul’s palliative care ward. The family expresses heartfelt appreciation to the team of angels at the St. Paul’s palliative care ward who looked after James at the end.

We have been blessed to have been loved by James and we find comfort that he will be back with the love of this life, Dianna.
