So sorry to hear of your mom's passing. I'm sure she went straight to Heaven.I (Marlene) am her youngest sister. I spent many, many, many days with her and Joe and the girls at Christmas time (the 5 girls, because the boys hadn't come yet). Julia was like my second mother and she taught me how to sew. It was a JOY to be with those 5 girls and I did lots of baking for her. We each gave each other a TONI home permanent! It was such a joy for me, because my mom and dad were older , and my mother always said I should go to Julia because she needed me. The girls, Bernadette, Pat, Pauline, Audrey and Joanie were like my little sisters. Each one wanted me to sleep with them. They had to take turns. Julia was a wonderful teacher to me in so many ways. There was SO MUCH LOVE in that family at Christmas time and I have fond memories of all of you. I remember when Joe played the Ukelele and Julia played the piano and the 5 girls sang and they were all dressed alike (navy blazers and white skirts). It brought the real beauty and joy of Christmas to me. I thank the good Lord and Blessed Mary to have been in their home at such a special time.To all of you I give you all my love and sympathy . I wish I could be with you there. I'm so glad that Joe and I were able to see Julia just 3 weeks ago when we went to Saskatoon!! She just looked at me but she didn't talk. I held both her hands and I gave her a hug and a kiss. Tomorrow, which is Thursday, we will be at Mass here in California, and we will pray for all of you. If Uncle Joe was there, he would be playing his trumpet..

To Joan and Bob (and the rest of the Palmer clan); we are sad to hear this news at this "joyous" time of the year for families! We do know from the passing of our parents; that the JOY is knowing they are now free from suffering and pain, and still are with us in our memories. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and all your family. We remember your mom very well from the times we visited you in your home and she was with you. May you continue to enjoy her music and memories as it lives on in you and all your grand-daughters!
