Its almost 0345 on the morning of May 12th. Im at work way way too early because I can't sleep and I'm sitting in my old truck that Kevin helped me build so many years ago, having a smoke and a coffee.
In the past Kevin would almost always be the first one to work and he would roar into our yard driving like he owned the place going all hell for a basement.
He'd shut the lights off in his black Volvo wagon and walk into the plant and most times we'd meet where we would pick up the keys for our mixers.
"Morning bro.
Morning Yeti how are you?
I'm okay and you?
I continue to function.."
We share a hug and carry on our day.
Now,noone is here at the moment,
but i hear a car enter the yard and look up to see if its his but its not.
So I look up at the night sky instead and look for Kevin walking amongst the stars.
I hold his coffee mug in a raised cheer to the dark but lightening sky and say hello.
He is with me here now in my heart and there won't be a day that goes by that I won't miss him.
Good morning brother.
Let's go to work.
