Obituary of Joan Scorgie
It is with great sadness that on Saturday December 5th, 2015, Joan Mary Scorgie (nee: Edgelow) passed away in Saskatoon, Sask. Born on May 28th, 1929, Joan was the only daughter of Gordon & Alison Edgelow and was raised on the farm outside of Meota (Turtleford-Cavalier), Sask. Joan had a passion for music and song, along with a lifelong delight in reading. Joan loved to sing and play piano, recorded music as well as published a book on poems called "Take Time to Smell the Roses". Joan is predeceased by brothers Douglas (FSSF) and Fred and leaves Clayton, George, Edward, Greville & Leslie, to mourn her loss. Joan was married to Donald Scorgie, had 7 children of her own, Nancy, Elaine, Alison, Roderick, Douglas, James and Maureen. Don passed away in 1983. Along the way came many grandchildren, Casey & Tanner, Brendan & Sarissa, Joshua, Lana, Danelle & Tara, Douglas and Sarah along with great grandchildren, Chase & Livie-Ann, Harmony & Parker. Joan was predeceased by Earl Stewart a long time friend and close partner in her life after Don had passed away. Joan lived the past few years at the Porteous Lodge in Saskatoon, surrounded by friends from days past, with a special thank you to the staff for showing such care and compassion over the years. God Bless and lovingly remembered by all she met, Joan may rest in peace.
