I have so many wonderful memories with Nana.
My earliest memory was visiting Nana in Florida when I was very young. I was maybe 5 or 6 years old. I remember running around the court she lived on with her little dog. In fact, I think Nana is partially responsible for my love of Florida.
Later in life I remember visiting Nana in Saskatchewan. I was about 15 or so. Nana asked me what my favorite food was. I said steak. She said she would cook me steak for dinner every night. And she did.
I remember Nana flying to Texas for my wedding. I remember her dancing at the reception. She was an incredible dancer. She was so happy.
Then Nana came to visit me in Florida with my Aunt Julie and Uncle Kevin. We all went out to dinner and enjoyed Florida together. It was amazing.
And then seeing Nana at my Dad's birthday in British Columbia. She lit up the room. She got to meet my son. He was 2 at the time. It was a great visit.
I'd call Nana from time to time, to let her know that I was thinking of her. She didn't talk much about herself. Instead, she was always more interested in what I was doing, and how my wife was doing, and how the kids were. She was always so kind and loving. And you could tell by the way she spoke on the phone that she was smiling.
The last time I talked to her was about 4 months ago. I remember she said "I can't believe I'm 90". To which I replied "Wow Nana, that's awesome. What's your secret?" She laughed and said "Well, remember to take your vitamins, and try not to worry about the small stuff". Sage advice.
Although I have really good memories with Nana, I wish I could have spent more time with her. I know that my Nana was in a lot of pain and I know she's in a much better place now. But it's still very hard to let her go. I miss her very much.
Rest in Peace Nana. I love you.

My condolences to Kim & Julie. I only met Audrey one time but I remember her as being a very gracious and proud lady. She always sounded great singing on Gordies TV show.
