With the arrival of Sr. Juliana, heaven is now further filled with great wonder and joy. An educator, administrator, consultant, parish life director, sister, family person, world traveller, friend and only God knows what else - Sister J leaves a legacy of love and service. Sister J offered Mary her first job as a kindergarten teacher at St. Augustine in Saskatoon in fall 1975, after “rearranging” class sizes with the “cooperation” of parents who received a visit from a new principal determined to build her school community. She was Our Lady of Lourdes, appointed the first female Parish Life Director by Bishop James Mahoney, and built up the parish on 12th Street in Saskatoon by welcoming all from near and far. Sister J was a clever and thrifty financial manager, with Lourdes providing significant fundraising capital for Holy Family Cathedral as envisioned by Bishop Albert LeGatt and built by Father David Tumbach and his committee. She now joins her departed family, friends, popes, bishops, sisters and priests in heaven, at the ultimate great and holy gathering.
