Obituary of Alison Martini-Olmstead

With shattered hearts we announce the sudden passing of our much beloved daughter, sister, sister-in-law, niece, cousin and granddaughter, Alison Loretta Martini-Olmstead, April 20, 1989 - July 5, 2015. We have been blessed with 26 years of being "Mamma Bear", "Papa Bear" and "Sister Bear" to this glorious spirit, our "Alidear". She has been an example of unparalleled kindness, generosity, integrity and hard earned wisdom not only to our family but also, as a deeply loved friend. As a child, she was brimming with wit, humour, curiosity and daring. She developed into a renowned baker, home chef extraordinaire, an amazing human resource contractor, as well as a most valued contributor to our business success. She faced in her life challenges that would have downed the strongest of men, doing so with strength of character that awed. In deep shock and mourning we prepare to do the worst of all things for our family - bid an earthly farewell, forever. We have been blessed and privileged to have had this beautiful soul in our lives - one who has been as much a teacher and sage as she was a cherished daughter and sibling. We are forever grateful for all who have loved her, supported her and honoured her true spirit, and who reached out to her in love and friendship. We shall forever remember and celebrate our dear Alison's spirit, for it was alive with joy and deep passion; her life meant so much. We will miss her more than words can ever express, and will honour her throughout the rest of our lives. Left to carry forward her legacy of unconditional love, kindness and generosity of spirit are her parents, Rick Olmstead and Silvia Martini; her sister, Nicole Verbeke, brother-in- law, Alan Verbeke, and Baby V; Nonno Enzo Martini; Auntie Loretta Martini and Uncle Chris Germanakos; Uncle Carlo and Auntie Adel Martini, cousins Kaitlyn and Christian Martini; Auntie Marj Cowie, cousins Lesle Cowie and Brent Zeller, and Dawn Cowie and David Oakes; Uncle Ross Green and cousin Bill Green; as well as numerous relatives, cherished friends and colleagues around the world. Throughout the years, we often discussed at length the value of an integrated approach to healing and medical care. We are encouraged by The Neural Health Project in Saskatoon to create a research centre as it relates to wellness. In memory of Alison, we ask that donations be made to this initiative - www.theneuralhealthproject.com It is our fondest hope that our dearest Alison will rest in peace, and we thank our family, friends and community who have reached out to console and comfort. It is a balm to our sorrow.
